Tapan Kanti Ghosh, the Commerce Secretary of Bangladesh is of the opinion in the post-LDC (least developed country) graduation era, the country might face different impediments in apparel shipments overseas.
The Commerce Secretary reportedly underlined this while addressing a validation workshop titled: Study on policy support and incentives before and after LDC graduation for RMG sector in the capital Dhaka recently even as he called for a continuance of policy support to the garment makers to help continue the trend in RMG exports as well as enable the apparel makers maintain the competitive edge in the global market.
Notwithstanding LDC graduation is a great achievement but it will come with its own share of challenges for Bangladesh, especially the apparel sector, the major foreign currency earner for the country.
