
Close on the heels of the USA reportedly launching an investigation into alleged misconduct, Bangladesh has promised the United States it would check counterfeiting of apparel and footwear products.
This is as per reports, which maintained the Additional Secretary of Commerce Ministry Hafizur Rahman has underlined the ministry made a submission to the United States Trade Representative (USTR) informing IP-related acts, policies and practices in Bangladesh even as he said that in some cases non-brand items were exported from the country and importing countries might attach tags of different brands with the products.
“We do not reject completely the allegations of counterfeiting,” reportedly said Hafizur Rahman, who is also the Director General of the World Trade Organisation Cell to the Commerce Ministry, while adding Bangladesh promises to stop the production and marketing of such products.
