
Seeking early conclusion of the proposed Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) with Indonesia, Bangladesh has, reportedly, underlined it should preferably be concluded this year, while also stressing on reducing the imbalance in the bilateral trade ties.
Media reports maintained this adding Bangladesh Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen discussed the issues during a recent telephonic conversation with his Indonesian counterpart Retno LP Marsudi even as the Indonesian Foreign Minister noted with profound satisfaction how Bangladesh-Indonesia bilateral relations were growing from strength to strength.
Both the Foreign Ministers, reportedly, expressed deep satisfaction at the existing excellent bilateral cooperation between the two countries and vowed to strengthen relations further.
With the LDC graduation looming large that would come with its own set of ramifications, especially for the export-oriented apparel sector following discontinuation of trade benefits, Bangladesh is,reportedly,negotiating PTA and FTA with host of nations.
