As many as 44 entrepreneurs spanning across the industrial sector in five categories namely micro industries, ex-officio category, large industries, medium industries and small industries are all set to get the status of commercially important person (CIP) for their contribution towards Bangladesh’s overall economy in 2021.
This is as per media reports, which added the Industries Ministry will confer the award through a ceremony in which will be present Agriculture Minister Muhammad Abdur Razzaque as the chief guest amongst others and presided over by Industry Secretary Zakia Sultana.
It may be mentioned here these 44 businesspeople who will get the CIP status will be provided with CIP cards and a number of facilities, which include invitations to national events and access to the VIP lounge-2 at airports, and priority in-seat reservation at Government transports in air, road, rail and waterways.
The event is expected to be attended by State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumdar, Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, FBCCI President Md Jashim Uddin and Cabinet Secretary Md Mahbur Hossain as the special guests.
