In partnership with the sustainable fashion charity Fashion for Good, TrusTrace, a company that specialises in product traceability and compliance, has released the second edition of its industry playbook, dubbed ‘The Traceability Roadmap.’
The Traceability Roadmap examines the process of putting traceability into practise, covering such topics as identifying organisational needs, navigating legal requirements, ensuring alignment and readiness, choosing the best solution, successful implementation, and standardisation and scalability of traceability throughout the industry. Despite being largely directed towards the fashion industry, this guide can be a useful resource for other industries dealing with comparable supply chain issues and regulations.
Interviews and observations from well-known companies like Tapestry and ASICS are included in the Traceability Roadmap to illustrate their experiences with applying traceability to promote sustainable transformation. Experts from Kharon and Policy Hub also offer insightful commentary on how changing regulatory environments may affect the demand for traceability.
The playbook, which includes knowledgeable comments from GS1 and the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN), also highlights the significance of industry standardisation and collaboration.
“In just a few short years, supply chain traceability has become recognised as the central tenet of sustainable transformation,” said TrusTrace CEO and co-founder Shameek Ghosh.
Kathleen Rademan, director of Fashion for Good’s Innovation Platform, expressed her thoughts on the Traceability Roadmap and said, “The TrusTrace Traceability Roadmap serves as a guide for brands, suppliers, and ecosystem players to understand, and implement traceability effectively.”
