Sourcery announces the expansion of its Provisional Partnership Programme, extending invitations to ten denim mills, manufacturers, and verticals from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Turkey, and Italy. Provisional Direct-to-GrowerTM Manufacturer Partners now have the chance to take Sourcery’s Direct-to-Grower methodology for a “test drive” thanks to this project, which has proven successful in Pakistan and India.
Provisional Partners do not need to pay any upfront membership fees to buy cotton fibre directly from growers or sell denim yarn and fabric to other Direct-to-GrowerTM Partners. Furthermore, as a cooperative dedicated to positive change, they will be among the first mills qualified for Sourcery’s upcoming stock option subscription plan, enabling the industry to take charge and steer the course of future international commerce.
The Provisional Partnership Programme aims to boost demand downstream in the cotton value chain. Building on its success in India and Pakistan, Sourcery has pre-qualified several spinning mills, manufacturers, and verticals to join as Provisional Partners. Leading spinning mills like Shivatex, Armstrong India, Unitech Spinner, Nahar Spinning, Ken Enterprises, Ramco Group, and GTN Textiles have already joined, with more in the application and onboarding process.
Despite lower-than-usual fibre demand, Provisional Partners remain dedicated to sourcing from Sourcery Grower Partners due to enhanced transparency, traceability, and trust within the Sourcery Partner network.
Provisional Partners have instant access to Sourcery’s full range of Direct-to-Grower Solutions, which make sales and procurement procedures more open, equitable, and successful. When opposed to traditional methods, Sourcery’s lack of commission fees on transactions involving fibre, yarn, and fabric presents a potential cost savings opportunity and encourages investment in both economic and environmental excellence.
Partners work together to meet the legal requirements of sustainability and international trade by providing products that are high-quality, transparent, traceable and have a verified impact at the farm level.
The proactive approach to innovation and sustainability taken by the denim industry is highlighted by Crispin Argento, Global Managing Director of Sourcery. It aligns with the company’s objective to rethink the “impact paradigm” and promote cooperation throughout the cotton supply chain to extend an invitation to the denim community to assume ownership of Sourcery.
