Fast fashion brand SHEIN, introduced evoluSHEIN by Design in collaboration with the global pop star Anitta.
The agenda for introducing evoluSHEIN by Design initiative is to focus on using sustainable materials and responsible manufacturing throughout the company.
The collaborative collection consists of recycled polyester, forest-safe viscose and rescued textiles remnants from other fashion brands. Moreover, the packaging is also designed with recycled content like recycled paper and PE plastic bags.
The goal of this collaboration is to source majority of the products according to its evoluSHEIN by Design Standard by the year 2030.
The garments are required to contain at least 30 percent of the preferred materials while also finding the suppliers with high social and environmental compliance verification to get the products manufactured.
Caitrin Watson, director of sustainability at SHEIN, said, “evoluSHEIN by Design supports a more circular system that mitigates textile waste and reduces consumption of new raw materials. We aim to continue reducing the environmental impact of our products while collaborating with other industry leaders to propel the circular textile economy forward. Launching this collection with Anitta is an opportunity to promote alternative and informed fashion choices in a way that is engaging for our customers and brings them along on our evoluSHEIN journey”
