Sabu Jacob, MD, Kitex Garments has reacted on the recent unfortunate incident that took place in its factory.
Speaking to a private channel, Sabu Jacob said that it was a very unexpected incident. Some workers went to partake in a carol team last night,while other workers objected as they were not able to sleep, he added.
The police have taken into custody around 150 workers of the company following a sporadic outburst of violence in Kerala’s Kizhakkambalam region.
The leading apparel manufacturer said that his workers do not have any criminal background.
All taken into custody are not involved in the incident and only less than 30 people are involved. SabuJacob said that the violence was unexpected and the perpetrators will not be protected. The company has said it would cooperate with the investigation.
“There was no criminal intent behind what happened.Drugs were brought into the camp and some of the workers were probably under its influence, leading to them becoming ‘uncontrollable’,” mathrubhumi.com quoted Sabu Jacob.
