Pacific Jeans in Chattogram has received and commissioned a reXline tearing system from the global technology company Andritz. In terms of recycling post-industrial textile waste for the creation of sustainable clothes, this system represents a major advancement.
Pacific Jeans is able to recycle trash produced during the cutting stage of the jeans production process thanks to the Andritz tearing line. The line, which can produce up to 800 kg of fibre per hour, allows the company to provide the spinning sector with high-quality sustainable fibres by giving enormous amounts of manufacturing waste a second chance at life. Pacific Jeans promotes circularity in its production process by using the yarn made from these fibres to make new jeans.
The utilisation of recycled fibres drastically lowers the carbon footprint and production costs of garments when compared to virgin cotton.
Bangladesh’s vibrant apparel sector has enormous opportunities for recycling post-industrial trash, according to Syed M. Tanvir, Managing Director of Pacific Jeans. The goal is to shut the loop and shift the fashion industry towards a more environmentally friendly future by repurposing this recovered fibre in fabric production and transforming cutting waste.
