Apart from the support IIMPACT gets from several companies belonging to various fields, a substantial portion of the support comes from the country’s apparel industry owing to their close association with the organisation. Anil Tandon, Managing Director, Tex Corp Ltd (Tex Zipper) and the founding President of IIMPACT, and Gautam Nair of Matrix Clothing are dedicated to the organization, while companies like Maral Overseas, Mainetti India, BMD Pvt Ltd are some of the companies in the textile or apparel business that have lent their support to this noble cause. In the last fiscal, the NGO has added 211 new learning centres, and started operating in four new districts of four different states. It also works with 16 other NGOs and associates with them as partner NGOs for various projects.
While appreciating the government’s initiatives like the new education policy and Digital India, Rahul Tandon, President of the IIMPACT, said, “We believe that by educating the girl child, incidents of malnutrition, domestic abuse, trafficking, early marriages and several such evils will drop significantly over time.”
“Our intervention has brought about noticeable improvement in the social indices in the areas we serve. Delayed marriages, greater chances of survival for newborns, earning a livelihood and adding to the family income are now a reality. Best of all, we now find IIMPACT girls eagerly enrolling their daughters in our schools,” says Nirmala, CEO of IIMPACT.
