
Chinese Polyurethane (PU) functional materials manufacturer Huarich has teamed up with polymer materials supplier Covestro by joining its ‘Insqin’ Partner Manufacturer programme. “Our company is committed to exceeding global standards with customer-centric innovation and sustainability. Huarich has had a long-standing interest in adopting waterborne PU – we are therefore pleased to be recognised as a key partner of Covestro,” said Shen Youlin, General Manager of Huarich.
Insqin technology uses waterborne PU instead of potentially polluting solvents, and is part of Covestro’s drive to replace PU-based textile coatings and artificial leather with a sustainable option. This programme insists that its partners must demonstrate an ongoing commitment to sustainability and transparency by using the technology.
According to Covestro, brands and retailers are making efforts to build a sustainable supply chains, and a critical part of those efforts is to establish partnerships that catalyse innovative materials developed sustainably.
