
A fire broke out at the Gazipur-based Moni Fashion, which is a yarn manufacturing unit, on 20 March (Saturday), at around 5:30 PM.
This is as per media reports.
Much of the fabrics stored in the factory has, reportedly, been burnt as well as machines gutted in the fire incident, which, reportedly, took 5 fire-fighting units around 4 hours to bring under control.
Speaking to the media, Deputy Assistant Director of Civil Defence and Gazipur Fire Service, Md. Abdul Hamid, maintained that on receiving the information of the same, 5 fire-fighting units of DBL and Joydebpur fire service rushed to the spot while adding that the fire could be brought under control after trying hard for almost four hours.
It is not possible to know the exact source of fire without investigation, said Md. Abdul Hamid even as reports maintained the extent of the damage was undetermined.
