As sustainability is becoming very important for buyers as well as exporters, industry is working actively in this direction. Aiming to get more work orders by impressing the eco-friendly retailers, Bangladesh’s apparel exporters are turning to green building initiatives. 14 garment manufacturing companies have already received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) after confirming their practice of good compliance and environmentally safe procedures while at least 50 more factories now are in under process to receive the LEED certification Industry experts expects that more than 150 factories are expected to receive the LEED certification by the end of next year.
