In partnership with Finnish sustainable fibre manufacturer Spinnova, bestseller’s menswear brand Jack & Jones has introduced its second product built with Spinnova fibre and the first consumer product developed at Spinnovas’s jointly owned Woodspin facility.
The second product to come out of the joint development cooperation between Spinnova and Jack & Jones is an at-shirt made from Spinnova fibre.
The brilliant white, buttercream, and black T-shirt, which is made of a blend of 30 per cent wood-based Spinnova fibre, 45 per cent cotton, 20 per cent organic cotton, and 5 per cent elastane, comes after the successful release of Jack & Jones men’s trousers made of cotton and Spinnova fibre in October 2022.
The T-shirt from the Bestseller brand is a noteworthy achievement because it is the first item of consumer goods to use fibre from Spinnova and Suzano’s joint venture, Woodspin’s factory, which opened for business in 2023.
The certified wood pulp from Scandinavia that is used to make the Spinnova fibre for the t-shirt is treated using Spinnova’s technology. With this release, Spinnova’s greatest production volume for a product that is currently on the market is reached.
Commenting on the collaboration, Tuomas Oijala, CEO of Spinnova said, “We’re delighted to continue our close collaboration with Bestseller and do our part to help them bring to life their strong sustainability strategy.”
Allan Jung Thorbøll, international buying manager at Jack & Jones, emphasised the brand’s commitment to sustainability and said, “We push ourselves to innovate and explore processes and materials with a lower impact on the environment. In Spinnova we’ve found a strong partner to take part in that journey. We are very excited to now launch the second Jack & Jones product made with Spinnova fibre.”
