Bangladesh’s rating in terms of social and labour compliance has improved to 2.5 in 2022 from that of 2.0 of the past few years.
According to media reports, this was, reportedly, found by a study title ‘2022 Fashion Industry Benchmarking Study’ conducted by the United States Fashion Industry Association.
This improvement in the ranking is seen by many as an acknowledgment of the continued efforts to improve social responsibility in apparel sector of the country, thanks to which, brands and buyers in the United States see lower social and labour compliance risks in sourcing apparel from Bangladesh now.
The study, reportedly, maintained, ‘in comparison, more than 70 per cent of respondents say sourcing from China now involves “high” or “very high” labour and social compliance risks.’
