Fashion supply startup Thread Factory has raised Rs. 1.5 crore (US $159,000) in a pre-seed funding round led by Aviral Bhatnagar of AJVC, as it seeks to modernise supply chain operations within India’s fragmented apparel sector.
The company said the capital will be deployed to strengthen its technology infrastructure, expand its workforce, onboard additional retailers and manufacturers, and further develop a data-driven supply ecosystem tailored to the Indian fashion industry.
Founded by Vivek Solanki and Paras Jindal, Thread Factory operates a business-to-business platform designed to connect independent apparel retailers with manufacturers across the country. The platform aims to simplify product discovery and sourcing for retailers while enabling manufacturers to optimise production planning through improved demand visibility.
The startup is targeting longstanding inefficiencies in India’s fashion supply chain, where sourcing is still largely conducted through informal channels such as phone calls and messaging platforms. These practices often result in weak demand forecasting, inefficient procurement processes, and excess inventory accumulation for retailers.
Thread Factory’s platform enables retailers to browse catalogues and place orders directly, while capturing transaction-level data to introduce greater transparency and intelligence into supply-side operations.
According to the company, it has achieved an annual recurring revenue (ARR) of approximately Rs. 4 crore (US $425,000) and maintains a monthly repeat customer rate of 60%. It has also onboarded more than 40 manufacturers to date.
AJVC, led by Bhatnagar, continues to broaden its presence in India’s startup ecosystem, with investments spanning ventures such as Bubble Me, Finanjo, Mindcase, Care Dale, HandyPanda, Multibagg AI, Nuyug, Mithila Foods, Jaagruk Bharat, TruFides AI, Chop Finance, Gaadi Mech and Iztri.
