Magnum a leading name engaged in providing total solutions of high-tech machines for the apparel and home textiles industry, has moved its base from Okhla, New Delhi to a more spacious office in nearby Noida. The team at Magnum is very upbeat: “Our product range is on the increase and so is our service team for which we required a bigger place,” said Manjeet Singh Bakshi, Director/CEO, Magnum Resources Pvt. Ltd. The company is looking at training initiatives and other industry interface for wider penetration into the market.
The inaugural event of the new office was a low-key affair graced by Peter Kern, President, Melco, a manufacturer of modular embroidery machines and embroidery machine design software. Praising the Magnum team, Peter said it had played a major role in establishing Melco in India, with its quick, efficient and accurate service attuned to the need of customers. Melco with a history of innovation is offering total embroidery solution under one roof to its customer base.
Keeping pace with latest production trends in the industry, Melco has created a flexible single head machine that has multiple applications. While it can be set up for operations similar to a multi-head machine it can also serve small quantity orders with precise and sharp images. Further, the flexibility also allows the machines to be placed as per requirement and convenience of the production floor.
Traditionally, manufacturers prefer to sew or part sew the garment before it is sent for embroidery applications, however as the delivery time shrinks new trends are emerging in to save on handling time and optimize the production process. “At Gokaldas Exports, the single head embroidery machine has been directly integrated into the manufacturing line itself. The system aids lean manufacturing as all the applications in the garment are build in a single assembly line on the production floor saving on critical time and manpower,” said Peter.
Highlighting the core advantages of AmayaXT embroidery machine, one of Melco’s most popular machines Peter said, “The Amaya concept is basically having multiple machines as opposed to a single multi-head machine, electronically connected and operated in integration.” Among its many advantages, the continuity of operations is the biggest edge. “If one head stops, the others continue to work,” averred Peter. Unlike the conventional system the independent systems are not affected by single thread breaks, as with the 16 needles per head, users can programme groups of needles together so in the event of thread break the back up needles automatically switch into the stitching operation. Peter also claimed that the Amaya range is the most advanced single head system in the market because of the higher speed and even higher output generated by it. With the speed of 1500 spm, the exclusive ActiFeed system feeds the thread smoothly and adjusts the thread tension automatically for smooth operations.
In its continuous effort to serve its customer better, Melco is working in close association with NVIDIA, the world leader in visual computing technologies, to digitize designs to create a huge database for the same. The software created by Melco, FlexiPlus gives the option of having different designs on different machine in the same line. “We are looking at cost-effective solutions and with our software it is possible to run up to 30 machines at a time with one software and without incurring any extra cost. Therefore it is an opportunity for the manufacturers to produce quality and variety at low input cost,” said Peter.
Magnum, with a trained team, is responsible to provide all services to the customers in terms of machinery, spare parts, accessories and running backup. “Providing the right service is the key element for doing business, as technology may be duplicated but service is unique and personal. In many cases the edge in decision-making from one technology to another comes from the ‘service’ backup. The first line of support is being taken care of by a very competent team at Magnum and then we have a back-up team of company experts that move in as and when required,” underlined Peter.
Today, Magnum is not just limited to supplying high-tech efficient machines but also includes intensive training of customer associates by skilled personnel. “We regularly upgrade so that our customers sustain business even in the most difficult times” concluded Manjeet.
