
Kordsa, which is a worldwide reinforcement technology supplier, has opened another polyester yarn line at its plant in Izmit, Turkey.
The supplier has come up with this additional line so as to fulfil the increasing demand of polyester yarn products. The new line, built at a cost of US $ 18 million, will produce polyester yarn products that will be known for their higher resiliency and better dimensional stability.
According to the company press release, advanced technology will be the mainstay at the new line, which will enable the company add 7,000 tons of additional capacity.
Besides, the new line will also be manufacturing the standard HMLS polyester yarn.
Expressing optimism over the opening of the new line, Cenk Alper, Chairman, Kordsa, said that Kordsa’s strength of innovation is an inspiration for its parent company Sabanci as well.
He added that from being a cord fabric producer in its initial days to today becoming a globally renowned technology export company, thanks to its innovative technologies, Kordsa continues to invest and produce in its endeavour to being the driving force of Turkish economy.
