
The Indonesian President Joko Widodo met Association of Indonesian Textile (API) and the Indonesian Fiber and Filament Yarn Makers Association (APSyFI) yesterday in the efforts to boost the textile industry.

The President said there’s no better way to do it than enhancing exports. He said he is on the lookout for investors in country’s textile sector.
He further added that the Government is already initiating measures in this regard and will be soon coming up with an apparel park.
Speaking on the same, the President said “It is a special zone that will pool in all elements from (textile) raw materials to its industry in one place.”
Others who were a part of the meeting included Ade Sudrajat, Chairman, API; Iwan Lukminto, President Director, PT Sritex; Anne Patricia Sutanto, Vice Director, PT Pan Brothers and Utama Mandiri Purnomo, President Director, PT Rayon.
Besides, Marisa Manimanen, Vice Director, PT Busana Apparel; Hanan Supangkat, President Director, PT Mulai Kniting; Bintoro Dibyoseputro, President Director, PT Jaya Perkasa Garment and Joy Citradewi, President Director, PT Adikencana Mahkotabuana were also there at the meeting.
The meeting was a follow-up to the one that the President had with the associations back in September.
