Walmart has upgraded its Pro Seller Badge certification standards for the first time, highlighting and rewarding top-performing sellers on its marketplace. This action could be interpreted as an indication that Walmart aims to increase its share of consumer spending during the next holiday season.
For merchants to be eligible for this badge, Walmart had to raise their on-time delivery rate from more than 90 per cent to more than 95 per cent. The company’s seller-accountable cancellation rate has decreased even more, from less than 2 per cent to less than 1.5 per cent.
Additionally, Walmart has added a new requirement that a seller must have a response rate of greater than 95 per cent over the last 30 days in order to be eligible for the badge. The store also emphasises quick shipment, and merchants who desire the badge are expected to fulfil orders in under two days, keep handling to under one business day, and arrange for weekend delivery. These changes will become live starting 20th September.
