Olympia Sports, the American sports retailer, is closing down its stores and is, consequently, holding closing sales at all locations.
If media reports are anything to go by, the retailer plans to shut down as many as 35 stores by the end of next month.
According to retailer’s return policy, all sales from the sporting goods retailer are final (which started on 21 July 2022).
There’s been officially no confirmation on whether the retailer would continue with its online presence once stores are shut. Also, there’s no information on the total number of the stores that would be closing down.
The retailer was bought by running specialty retailer JackRabbit, which was owned by private equity firm CriticalPoint Capital, back in 2019.
Notably, as a part of that transaction, Olympia Sports had then closed down 76 stores.
The sporting goods retailer was founded in 1975 in Portland, Maine.
