
Global apparel retailer UNIQLO has opened its first-ever store in Bengaluru, marking a significant milestone in its India journey. Cricketer Rahul Dravid joined the launch celebrations, participating in the ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside UNIQLO India representatives.
The new store spans 9,012 square feet and represents UNIQLO’s 17th outlet in India, while also being its very first in South India. The store offers wardrobe essentials for men, women, kids and babies, including the Fall/Winter 2025 collections featuring technologies such as HEATTECH, PUFFTECH and AIRism, along with premium fabrics like denim, fleece and cashmere.
Kenji Inoue, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of UNIQLO India, described the launch as a significant milestone as the brand has entered South India. He noted that the debut had been long awaited and said the team was encouraged by the warm and positive response from customers in Bengaluru. He added that UNIQLO looked forward to serving customers in the city, introducing them to its LifeWear range and delivering the best customer experience through the new store.
Rahul Dravid expressed admiration for UNIQLO, highlighting its timeless style, functionality and simplicity—qualities he personally valued. He said it was exciting to witness the brand’s first store opening in Bengaluru, his hometown and described being part of the occasion as wonderful. Dravid also expressed confidence that the city’s residents would embrace the LifeWear philosophy with enthusiasm.
