JD Sports, the renowned UK-based fashion retailer, hopes to see another year of profit, as its sales surge.
Expectedly so! The clothing retailer saw its like-for-like sales go up by 5 per cent in first 5 months of the year.
The apparel retailer added that it now expects the trading patterns to normalise as the year progresses, with approximately 35 per cent to 40 per cent of profits being generated in the first half of the year.
It’s not been that smooth for JD Sports ever since its long-time chair Peter Cowgill quit in May 2022.
Here it is worth mentioning that the retailer was fined £ 5 million after it was, reportedly, found breaching the rules around its blocked merger with Footasylum.
It is, reportedly, facing a hefty sanction following CMA’s evidence of JD Sports’ involvement in price fixing.
Founded in 1981, JD Sports has stores across the UK, Europe, the US, Asia, New Zealand and Australia. It generated £ 6,110.8 million in 2020.
