Global sportswear brand Kelme has entered the Indian market with the launch of its first experiential retail store in Noida, alongside the rollout of a national e-commerce platform aimed at serving the country’s expanding base of competitive and grassroots athletes.
The India launch is backed by RSN Sports, an Indian sports company, which will support the brand’s market development and retail expansion. The company is positioning the entry as a step towards addressing gaps in the domestic sports ecosystem, particularly the limited availability of competition-grade performance gear for serious athletes at the grassroots level.
As part of its expansion strategy, Kelme plans to establish a network of 70 exclusive brand outlets (EBOs) across India over the next three years through partnerships with local franchise operators, signalling a long-term commitment to building on-ground presence.
Director Ranjit Singh stated that the brand’s entry into India is intended not only to introduce an international label but also to contribute to the development of the country’s sports ecosystem, emphasising the broader link between sporting progress and national growth.
The India launch includes a portfolio of more than 150 performance-oriented products spanning football, futsal, basketball, badminton and other indoor and outdoor sports. The offering features lightweight performance fabrics, advanced moisture management technologies and footwear designed for multi-surface traction and biomechanical stability during high-intensity activity.
Chief Executive Officer Anurag Singh noted that rising participation in sports has created a growing demand for specialised equipment tailored for competitive play, adding that the company aims to support athletes, academies and institutions by providing technically advanced sports gear across the country.
The move reflects increasing interest among global sportswear brands in tapping India’s rapidly evolving sports market, driven by rising participation levels and greater institutional focus on athletic development.
