
To improve its digitisation play across its stores, India-based retail chain Shoppers Stop has inked deal with proximity communications firm ToneTag to deploy sound-based contactless payments at its stores so as to help customers for cardless, cashless and contactless payments at stores across India. In this system, soundwaves from mobile phones are used to make electronic payments.
ToneTag allows easy, frictionless & secure proximity payments using soundwaves (Tone) or NFC (Tag) and enables contactless experience on any device.
“Our paramount focus is to offer our customers a convenient, fast and enhanced shopping experience. With ToneTag’s sound-based technology, our customers will now have multiple payment options for a smooth, fast and convenient shopping experience,”Govind Shrikhande, Managing Director at Shoppers Stop, was quoted as saying.

It is pertinent to mention that, with an aim to strengthen its omni-channel play, India-based retail chain Shoppers Stop has inked partnership with Riversand Technologies for Master Data Management Solutions. The agreement says Riversand’s MDM Center will create end-to-end value to Shoppers Stop.
