It’s been good six months for Hermès!
The globally renowned French luxury label saw its year-on-year sales go up by 23 per cent to € 5.5 billion in the half-yearly period that ended 30 June 2022.
Notably, the recurring operating income rose by an impressive 34 per cent to clock € 2.3 billion during the period. The net profit went by 40 per cent to € 1.6 billion.
The clothing retailer attributed the good numbers to strong sales and high sell-through rates – and importantly to an increased recurring operating margin that reached a historic high of 42 per cent.
Product-wise, ready-to-wear and accessories saw a good jump of 36 per cent, and region-wise, revenue in Europe (excluding France) rose by 34 per cent with the same from France surging by 41 per cent.
