
The much hyped Prime-Day event of US based e-retail giant Amazon was hit due to periodic web outages as soon as event went live on Monday. Many of the customers got error message that read: ‘Sorry, something went wrong on our end’ while surfing the site to seal the deal during Prime Day event.
The error was mainly reported in US, but similar issue occurred in Europe, Africa, South America, Russia, Asia, and Australasia also. A lot of customers could not complete their orders while shopping during the Prime Day, while many complained about disappearing of ‘deals’ page and ‘Shop all deals’ from the site.
The 36-hour event is the biggest flagship event of the e-retailer which targets to break records. This year, analysts estimate that Amazon is likely to make at least US $ 3.4 billion in sales.
Discounts on products to Prime Members are offered during the annual sale event which lasts for 36 hours. In addition to revenue gain, the e-retailer is also using Prime Day as an opportunity to increase Prime Members.
At least 200 exclusive launches and other deals were offered to Prime members during the Prime Day. Prime Day is Amazon’s flagship event that is celebrated by more than 100 million Prime members in 17 countries including India.
