
New Era Cap, a prominent sportswear brand, has recently revealed its acquisition of ’47, a privately held premium sports lifestyle brand. The financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed.
This merger unites the two US-based sportswear brands, both rooted in family heritage, boasting a combined annual revenue of approximately US $ 2 billion.
Together, they will uphold and expand their licensing partnerships with major global sports leagues and events, including Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Association, the National Football League, and the National Hockey League. Additionally, they will continue collaborations with over 900 collegiate programs, European soccer clubs, US and European auto racing teams, Grand Slam tennis tournaments, and major golf championships, among other ventures.
“We are pleased to have reached this agreement to acquire ’47, a company that shares our commitment to making iconic products and delivering premium experiences,” said Christopher Koch, chief executive officer of New Era.
As per the agreement, both New Era and ’47 brands will maintain operations from their respective headquarters in Buffalo, New York, and Westwood, Massachusetts. The leadership of ’47 will be overseen by its president, Dominic Farrell.
