The English Senior Women’s Team has named high-street retailer Marks and Spencer as its official tailor, and the company has also unveiled its own womenswear line.
The two have had a close association for a long time, beginning in 2007 when M&S started providing suits to the England Senior Men’s Team.
The womenswear line consists of a variety of adaptable fitted items in a subtle blue and white colour scheme. The collection consists of stylish separates that upend the conventional notion of ‘power dressing’ in order to empower the wearer.
Each piece, which draws inspiration from the menswear style, is designed with a sophisticated tailored fit, mock pockets, and tidy button fastenings. The England women’s team will sport these items during the competition and in their official team photo.
When players and people are expressing themselves, “both style and football can be exhilarating,” claims M&S.
Maddy Evans, Director of Womenswear at M&S, commented: “We’re incredibly excited and honoured to be dressing the talented and inspiring England Women’s Team on their journey to this year’s most talked about tournament.”
A related marketing effort will launch in conjunction with the announcement both online and in certain stores. The collection is styled by famed England players Alex Greenwood, Lucy Bronze, and Jessica Carter, who are all featured wearing various items from the line.
