Michael Kors has promoted Anne Walsh to the role of President, North America retail, effective 1st April. Cedric Wilmotte, the CEO of Michael Kors, will be her supervisor.
Walsh takes over as group head of North America retail as Jaryn Bloom, the luxury fashion brand’s 18-year veteran, quits. To guarantee a seamless transfer, Bloom will collaborate with the Michael Kors North America team through June.
Since joining Michael Kors almost ten years ago, Walsh has contributed to the expansion of the brand’s US retail division. She most recently served as senior vice president, retail merchandising, North America, where she oversaw the U.S. retail merchandising strategies across all channels.
“I am confident that Anne’s drive, enthusiasm and deep understanding of our business will allow us to continue to drive our retail strategy forward,” said Wilmotte.
Coinciding with the news, Debra Margles, president of Michael Kors Canada, is leaving the company at the end of March after almost 20 years. A replacement was not announced.
Parent firm Capri Holdings reported in its most recent trade update that third-quarter revenues dropped 5.6 per cent to US $ 1.43 billion, with retail segment sales negatively impacted by a decline in demand from premium consumers, particularly in the Americas.
