
Expanding its clothing recycling programme, Levi Strauss & Co. has partnered with Goodwill as this partnership will turn some of the packages shipped this Holiday Season into opportunities for consumers to keep used clothing out of landfills, while also giving back.
In a press release Levi Strauss mentioned that after making a purchase with Levi.com or Dockers.com, consumers can reuse the box to donate clothes they’ve been meaning to give away with a free shipping label available online. The company is supporting Goodwill’s mission of creating jobs by giving US $ 5 to Goodwill, up to US $ 50,000 for every box of donation shipped.

This new recycling programme that provides consumers an opportunity to donate used clothing and shoes by using a shipping label available on the US e-commerce sites for the Levi’s® and Dockers® brands that is free to consumers. On Giving Tuesday (December 1, 2015), Levi Strauss will double its contribution of US $ 10 for every free shipping label printed (and ultimately shipped) in support of the Global Day of Giving. This innovative way to donate is supported by a tool called Give Back Box and builds upon Levi Strauss’ commitment to social and environmental sustainability.
Marc Rosen, Head – Global E-commerce at Levi Strauss averred, “Levi Strauss is a company guided by a strong tradition of giving back, and this Holiday Season we want to give our fans an opportunity to support their local community when they shop on Levi.com and Dockers.com.” Levi Strauss’ new recycling initiative aims to reduce the clothing, other textiles and shoes that go to landfills. Goodwill alone diverted more than three billion pounds of donated goods from the landfills last year.
