French AI-based size recommendation solution Kleep, launched in June 2023, has raised € 1.8 million in a funding round to help accelerate its growth. Kleep also intends to use the capital to develop its own product search website.
A number of investors participated in the funding round, including HR consultant Chantal Baudron, former head of HR at Levi’s and Nordstrom, Eric de Bettignies, founder of Advancy, Olivier Schaeffer, co-founder of Le Printemps group, Rachel Chicheportiche, former president of Jérôme Dreyfus, HR consultant Laurent Grosman, co-founder of Celio, HR consultant Laurent Dayan, and Irani Ventures, the venture capital fund of Israeli fashion e-tailer Factory 54.
Federico Fortis and Théophile Bousquet founded Kleep as a start-up in 2021; as of right now, 20 fashion labels are among its clientele. Thanks to its technologies, they are able to reduce the number of returns from online clothing purchases, which are frequently caused by sizes and cuts that don’t fit the consumers’ expectations or body types. Kleep’s AI-powered solution has the ability to increase conversion rates by 15 per cent to 25 per cent while cutting return rates in half.
In addition to helping labels implement precise size suggestion systems, Kleep is eager to use the funds raised to create its own product search website, which will employ artificial intelligence (AI) to find products that best match online shoppers’ expectations and search parameters.
Kleep is currently backed by French start-up incubators Station F and La Caserne, by Bpifrance and by the Île-de-France regional authority.
