Northern Irish designer Jonathan Anderson is collaborating with tennis legend Roger Federer on a new collection for Uniqlo.
Federer posted a picture of him with Anderson on Instagram with the caption: “Excited for this one… stay tuned.”
The nine-piece unisex collection combines elements of sports style with Anderson’s gender-fluid vision. Black, white, grey, and blue are the neutral colourways available for fleece coats, sweaters, shorts, and parkas.
A prominent element of the tiny collection, polo shirts were also worn by models in JW Anderson’s recent Milan Fashion Week show, where they were styled in sporty looks and rugby-inspired tops.
Although Anderson and Federer are collaborating for the first time, they have both had a longstanding association with the Japanese retailer.
Since 2018, Federer has represented Uniqlo as a brand ambassador. It was claimed in 2018 that Federer would receive approximately £ 22 million year from Uniqlo for the following ten years. Federer also serves as a model for the brand’s lifestyle apparel in addition to sportswear.
Anderson – who is also the creative director of luxury fashion house Loewe – has been creating collaborative collections with Uniqlo since 2017.
