British activewear and accessories retailer, JD Sports will open a flagship store in Sydney, continuing on its objective to expand its global presence. The brand looks to double its outlets in the country citing huge demand in the region.
The sportswear retailer forayed into the Australian market last year with a plan to have four to five outlets, but recently the brand inaugurated its 15th store in the country. Hilton Seskin, Country Head, JD Sports, Australia, affirmed the media that in the next year and a half, another 15 stores are on the card.

According to media, the country’s athletic shoe and clothing market is worth A $ 2.3 billion, and the UK-based retailer is eyeing to expand that via new offerings.
Notably, the strong relationships the retailer enjoys with the international players and its ability to secure the exclusives that, at times, account for half of the product it sells, gives an edge to JD Sports over its competitors in Australia.
Additionally, the new store, houses launch zones for labels to aid the big names interact deeply with the shoppers, as they uncover their latest offerings. The outlet also has an elevated Nike concession area for a premium product and add-ons like personalisation.
