Following Ana Risueño’s departure, who previously held the position, Inditex has embraced internal talent and selected Lorena Rodríguez to lead this division.
Along with its other two lines, Basic and Trafaluc, Inditex’s flagship women’s collection consists of Zara Woman. According to La Voz de Galicia, Beatriz Padín, an executive who joined the company in 1985, is in charge of Zara’s women’s segment overall. She also has a close relationship with the Ortega family.
Although the circumstances behind Ana Risueño’s departure—she had worked for Inditex for more than ten years—are still unknown, the previously cited source implies the executive made a personal request.
Inditex has chosen internal promotion for Zara Woman’s succession, one of the main business drivers for the conglomerate’s biggest brand. As a result, Lorena Rodríguez, the new head of this division, came from the Circular department, which distributes merchandise to Zara’s three women’s divisions.
