Completing five years of its inception, Capsul– India’s first multi-brand streetwear retailer– is geared up for good growth in future.
Established in 2018 by Meenakshi Singh and Bhavisha Dave, Capsul curates a select range of products designed by culturally rich brands founded by thought leaders and storytellers.
Having around 30 brands on its digital platform, Capsul will have almost 100 brands in the next one year.In addition to coming up with its own label soon, Capsul is also in the process of having an experience store in Mumbai.
Bhavisha told Apparel Resources, “Streetwear is increasingly doing well and there are multiple reasons for this as lot of celebrities are regularly seen in streetwear. Comfort is a new trend and streetwear ensures comfort completely. It is an affordable luxury… so millennial are having thrust on the same.”
It encourages slow fashion as it’s about buying pieces that are an expression of one’s personality and repeatedly wearing them, making them feel like a second skin over time. Capsul brings products that are conversation starters.
Meenakshi Singh is a Design graduate from NIFT, Bangalore and has also worked as Creative Head at PUMA, while Bhavisha, MBA from the Asian Institute of Management, Philippines has also worked for Puma for 9 years.
Capsul is also the founder and curator of ‘WORD On the Street’ – a community, DIY event conceptualised to provide a platform to bring together tribes representing streetwear, sneakers, art, music or just about anybody with an interest in being a youth culture creator.
