Second-hand clothes have been one of the fastest growing market segments in the fashion world – especially over the last decade.
And there are quite a few who have been doing well lately!
Swedish fast fashion retailer H&M’s online second-hand platform Sellpy is now set to open more stores.
The fashion start-up, which was launched in 2014, will now be available in 20 European countries, as per media reports.
The expansion, as and when it happens, will increase its number of markets to 24.
The launch yet again substantiates H&M and Sellpy’s commitment towards enhancing sustainable fashion.
Further substantiating on the same, Gustav Wessman, Head of Expansion, said that every garment bought pre-owned saves resources for the planet.
Gustav added that the good part was that the demand for pre-owned clothes was growing fast in its new markets.
The collaboration with H&M gives Sellpy access to former’s warehouse in Poland as well as service around distribution, quality control of garments and order handling.
Sellpy picks up goods from sellers’ homes, takes photographs of the goods and then sells them online. H&M owns around 70 per cent of Sellpy.
