Finally! The Indian city of Ahmedabad is available on the store locator map of Hennes & Mauritz (H&M) AB as the Sweden-based fashion retailer has opened doors of its first store here for customers on May 18, 2018.
The brand’s latest store in India is located on Iscon Emporio, Satellitte Road in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
The store opening was attended by more than 800 fashion lovers. Bollywood stars Diana Penty and Kartik Aaryan inaugurated the outlet.
Now, the fashion retail brand is all set to celebrate the opening of its upcoming store in Mumbai’s Palava Xperia mall next week.
H&M, which is majorly present in metro cities in India, is also planning to penetrate into Tier II and III cities as well.
Additionally, around 800 people are likely to be hired by H&M in India which will increase its workforce to 4,300 from current 3,500 this year. The new staff will be a part of the expansion plans of its sales network in India.
H&M is confident to achieve better numbers as it is India among its one of the fastest growing markets. The retailer reported enormous growth in its very first year of operation here. Markedly, it reported a twofold increase in sales in India to 1,179 million Swedish krona (over Rs. 955 crores) for the fiscal ended November 2017.
