Digital department store Freemans has secured a new chief merchandising officer. Susie Calvert is about to fill the important post vacated by Linda Quinn who retired in autumn 2023.
Calvert has over thirty years of expertise in a variety of roles in the UK and worldwide retail industry.
Her experience encompasses working with, creating, and launching multiple brands in a range of business formats, including wholesale, concessions, licence partnerships, own-bought brand development, and concessions.
She also brings a wealth of global sourcing experience and a great track record of developing items across both fashion and homeware categories.
In addition to helping to develop start-up direct-to-consumer businesses including Jasper Conran London and the still-new Vivere by Savannah Miller, Calvert formerly held the position of trading director at Debenhams.
Freemans’ chief executive Ann Steer said, “Susie’s enviable experience over the last 30 years will ensure that our product overing continues to evolve and differentiates Freemans from the wider market.”
