A resale program named ‘Forever Francesca’s’ will be launched by the women-oriented chain Francesca’s in an effort to reduce fashion waste. The brand will collaborate with ThredUP, one of the biggest online resale platforms in the world, to launch the new program.
Customers will be able to purchase used goods through the program and resell clothes, shoes, and accessories on ThredUP’s resale-as-a-service platform. The collaboration between those businesses is part of a growing retail trend to address the harmful effects of the fashion industry on the environment.
With the help of this program, customers will be able to send second-hand items from any brand to ThredUp without paying any fees. The company will clean, sell, and put a price on the products. The customers will also get an incentive for their returns and repurchases.
“We are aware of the environmental impact apparel has on our planet, and our work with ThredUP in launching ‘Forever Francesca’s’ is an important first step in doing our part to make a difference,” said Jann Parish, Chief Marketing Officer of Francesca’s.
