
In order to access the Indian market through an omnichannel strategy, New York-based footwear retailer Foot Locker has teamed up with Metro Brands and Nykaa, the company announced in a press statement. The New York-based company will launch its first location at Select City Walk in Delhi, with Metro Brands managing its physical presence.
In addition to its physical presence, the company announced that it will only sell online through Nykaa Fashion and Nykaa Man in order to offer a personalised online buying experience.
“Bringing Foot Locker to India, via licensing arrangements with Metro Brands and Nykaa Fashion, is a pivotal milestone in our global expansion,” stated Peter Scaturro, senior vice president of strategic planning and growth at Foot Locker. “Our goal is to create an immersive atmosphere that combines creativity and technology to enhance the sneaker experience.”
“The strategic partnership between Metro Brands Ltd, Foot Locker Inc., and Nykaa is a critical first step in taking advantage of this enormous opportunity,” according to Nissan Joseph, CEO of Metro Brands Limited. “The athleisure market in India is growing at a rapid pace.”
