Come Friday (9 April) and Dick’s Sporting Goods will be launching its maiden House of Sport store concept in New York.
The launch is being, reportedly, seen as a part of the sporting goods’ retailer’s several new ventures. Dick’s Sporting Goods is soon going to open two more warehouse sale locations.
The retailer, known also for its workout clothes and sports apparels, had launched Dick’s Sporting Goods Warehouse and Overtime by Dick’s Sporting Goods back in June 2020, but House of Sport concept is clearly distinct from the other two.
The House of Sport store concept does not offer discounts – unlike Warehouse and Overtime – but consists of many experiential features that aim to deepen relations with its customers.
For instance, the outdoor field remains open all through the year for customers to practice and additionally Dick’s will also offer food besides helping customers fix appointments with local wellness experts.
The store elements will feature 17,000 square foot turf field, 32-foot rock-climbing wall, golf pro shops with its accessories, golf lessons and will even offer wellness services like yoga.
Dick’s Sporting Goods is also enhancing its offerings at its core stores with similar features.
Nike has already opened such experiential stores like House of Innovation and Lululemon too has adopted this strategy lately. With Dick’s Sporting Goods also venturing into it now, the trend seems to be picking up amongst fashion retailers.
