Grasim Industries Limited, part of the Aditya Birla Group, has appointed Deepak Tankala as Regional Head Worsted Yarn (a smooth, compact yarn typically made from long, combed fibres), strengthening its leadership team within the company’s textile business.
In his new position, Tankala is expected to contribute to the growth of Grasim’s worsted yarn business and strengthen its market presence through customer-focused strategies and business development initiatives.
Tankala is an experienced textile industry professional with expertise spanning brand marketing, commercial leadership, international markets, yarn business development and market strategy.
Prior to joining Grasim Industries, Tankala served as Head of Brand Marketing at Sutlej Textiles and Industries Ltd., where he gained experience in brand strategy, market positioning and business development within the textile industry.
Earlier, he served as Country Head at Sulochana Cotton Spinning Mills Pvt. Ltd. in Bangladesh, gaining international exposure and experience in managing business operations across markets.
His appointment comes as textile companies increasingly focus on value-added yarns, premiumisation and expanding opportunities in domestic and international markets.
