Alfredo C. M. Tan has been named by Canada Goose Holdings Inc. as the company’s new chief digital and information officer, beginning 7th August. Matt Blonder, who is leaving the upscale outerwear brand, will be replaced by Tan.
As Chief Digital and Information Officer, Tan will supervise the strategy, execution, and adoption of all digital platforms intended for consumers. He will spearhead efforts to improve the brand’s digital capabilities and lead teams responsible for developing the company’s digital roadmap across digital sales channels, as well as managing IT, digital media, marketing, and consumer insights.
Tan and his team will also lead Canada Goose’s future data and AI strategy to raise both commercial and enterprise performance, as shared in a press release from the Toronto-based company.
Tan comes to Canada Goose from Loblaw Companies, where he served as Senior VP and Managing Director of the retail media division. Previously, he held leadership roles at Meta Platforms, contributing to its development into a global leader in media and technology as one of its early employees.
Prior to that, Tan held the position of Senior VP of Strategy, Data, and Digital Products at Rogers Sports & Media, and he was also the inaugural Chief Digital Officer and Chief Innovation Officer at WestJet Airlines.
“Alfredo brings broad global experience and a proven track record in leveraging technology to alter consumer experiences and push outcomes,” remarked Dani Reiss, Chairman and CEO of Canada Goose.
In its latest trading update, Canada Goose accounted stronger-than-predicted sales growth, pushed by robust retail performance in China and the US.
