Benetton Group has announced the appointment of Nikhil Upadhye as its new Managing Director for India, effective 16 October 2025. He succeeds Ramprasad Sridharan, who is stepping down to pursue a new professional opportunity.
Upadhye previously served as the Commercial Director at Benetton India until February 2025. He brings extensive experience across the sports, footwear, and fashion sectors, having held roles at Idea Cellular, Reebok, Tata Wolverine, Welspun UK, and Jio before joining Benetton in 2017 during his first tenure with the company.
According to a company statement, Benetton highlighted that Upadhye, a Sloan Fellow from London Business School and an alumnus of IMT Ghaziabad, brings over two decades of industry experience to the role.
Expressing appreciation for the outgoing Managing Director, the company stated that Sridharan had provided valuable leadership following the COVID-19 pandemic. Under his stewardship, Benetton consolidated its market presence through a multi-channel approach, strengthened product offerings, and enhanced communication strategies.
The statement further noted that India remains a key market for Benetton, where the brand has maintained a presence since 1992. The company added that it looks forward to ushering in a new phase of growth in the country under Upadhye’s leadership.
