
In an effort to be in order and stop fraudulent activities in the Bangladesh e-commerce industry, the Commerce Ministry has recently launched a Central Complaint Management System (CCMS), which will protect consumers from any fraud while purchasing goods and services from e-commerce firms.
Inaugurating the CCMS Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi reportedly said the system has been introduced to ensure safe purchases and prevent irregularities in the e-commerce transaction.
“We expect to see its benefit,” reportedly added Tipu Munshi even as part of the CCMS, consumers will be able to file complaints through the Directorate of National Consumers Right Protection (DNCRP) against fraud by the e-commerce platform.
Meanwhile, the Commerce Ministry has underlined the platform (CCMs) will act as a bridge between consumers, e-commerce stakeholders and regulators.
It may be mentioned here Bangladesh’s e-commerce sector had hit the headlines recently on account of alleged malpractices.
