
Close on heels of a Dhaka court sending the owner of the e-commerce platform eorange, Sonia Mehjabin, and her husband Masukur Rahman to jail following a case filed by some of its customers pertaining to alleged embezzling of around Taka 1,100 crore, the Chief Operating Officer (CEO) of the e-commerce platform, Amanullah, has also been arrested by the police recently.
Media reports maintained this adding he was picked up by police from the capital’s Gulshan area while citing Gulshan Police Station OC Abul Hasan in this regard even as another media report added another Dhaka court has imposed travel ban on Sonia Mehjabin, Masukur Rahman and three other officials in relation with the Taka 1,100 crore embezzlement case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury, reportedly, passed the order in this regard following submission of an application by the case’s investigation officer.
As per the case, around 37 customers of the e-commerce firm, reportedly, underlined that the accused embezzled Taka 11 billion from around 100,000 clients after they took advance payment by falsely promising delivery
