Cowen & Co analysts anticipated that Amazon, touted as world’s favourite fashion e-retailer, will sell clothes worth $28 billion in 2018 while the others predicted that Amazon’s apparel sales could reach $85 billion by 2020.
According to a survey by CPC Strategy, more than 50 per cent of 1500 US Shoppers surveyed in the report have found Amazon comparibly better when it came to buying apparel, primarily focusing on the last six months. The e-retailer has been dominating most of retail verticals.
CPC Strategy’s recently released ‘U.S. Apparel Shopping Trends Forecast: How Shoppers Will Browse and Buy Clothing in 2018’, was not designed to revolve only around Amazon. However, the results demonstrated that shopping on Amazon is a trend that’s only gaining momentum, according to a press release from the company. It predicts that this year is a year of change for apparel retailers and brands.
Free/fast shipping has been a major factor behind Amazon’s popularity among its shoppers. At least 30.8 per cent of those surveyed chose Amazon for its convenient service.
Apart from being a favourite among customers, the retailer has also provided marketplace to more than 300,000 U.S.-based small and medium-sized businesses in 2017.
Associations with Amazon help these SMBs to get access of global market through the Amazon Marketplace. A large number of these SMBs also opt to use Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) to get access of its global logistics.
