Amazon, the US e-commerce bigwig, is now creating huge job opportunities for the people of the UK.
The American retailer is set to create 10,000 new jobs in the UK, thereby increasing the total workforce in the country to 55,000 by the end of 2021.
The new jobs will be created across various departments including fashion, digital marketing, engineering, software development and cloud computing, amongst others.
Notably, the jobs will include positions in Amazon’s corporate offices in London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Cambridge.
In addition to expanding its delivery station network, Amazon also plans to launch 4 fulfilment centres in Dartford, Gateshead, Hinckley and Swindon.
And there’s more for employees!
Amazon is also planning to invest £10 million over a period of 3 years to train around 50,000 workers.
Besides, The Amazon Career Choice scheme offers its staff 95 per cent of tuition fees and associated fees for nationally recognised courses (up to £8,000) over 4 years – for those who wish to begin a career outside Amazon.
Amazon is also set to join hands with British Chambers of Commerce to address shortage of skills in regions and ensure right training is provided.
The e-commerce stalwart seems to be on the right track and according to a recent report, Amazon is all set to become the largest US retailer by 2025.
