US-based X-Rite Inc., a global leader in colour science and technology and its subsidiary Pantone LLC, has collaborated with University of North Carolina at Greensboro, USA. Under the partnership, company will provide colour management hardware, software and training services to the students of consumer, apparel, and retail studies (CARS) programme at the University.
Equipment such as Ci7800 spherical benchtop spectrophotometre and the Color iQC software will be made available to the students. The Ci7800 is an advanced measurement instrument that provides accurate, reliable sample-to-sample colour measurement of materials across the entire supply chain. It is used in conjunction with Color iQC Software.
“Students in the CARS programme will benefit tremendously by having access to this cutting-edge colour measurement equipment and technology. This donation will allow us to teach production applications through hands-on activities using real-world equipment, and ultimately to better prepare our students to succeed in the industry after graduation,” said Dr. Nancy Hodges, Burlington Industries Professor and Department Head, CARS.

The collab will enable to use the latest colour measurement equipment and software to better understand and improve colour quality control processes used in textile and apparel industries.
